About


Perennial offers food and drinks served by knowledgeable, passionate people in Garden City, Long Island.  Chef/Owner Peter Mistretta focuses on high-quality and locally-grown ingredients, particularly those produced in Long Island, and Perennial is proud to be transparent about these choices. Guests can know that the food they are enjoying is sustainable and as locally sourced as possible.


Peter's first food memory is dipping steamer clams in melted butter at his grandparents' home on the East End. Prior to opening Perennial, Peter and his wife, a South Shore native, spent their weekends collecting produce at Long Island's farmers markets, visiting local craft breweries and sharing the table with family and friends. Inspired by Long Island's farms, vineyards and waters, Peter is proud to share his passion for hospitality in the heart of Nassau County. 


"Perennial" means something that returns year after year. It's a commitment to the growing seasons and to the dedicated people who grow and harvest great food. 


Perennial is proud to donate $1 from every entrée sold to THE INN, which addresses issues of food and shelter to the hungry and homeless on Long Island.

At Perennial, we know every client is different as is every party or event. We like to sit down with each client in the restaurant so we can discuss exactly what your vision is and how we can make your event truly memorable. Perennial can accommodate events of up to 34 people and if your party is larger than this, please contact us to inquire about renting out the entire space and we're happy to discuss pricing at that time.
